J. David Niday

Co-Founder

J. David Niday, NHA

J. David Niday is co-founder and owner of Hospice Care of South Carolina. Mr. Niday served as Executive Director and Director of Operations from its formation in May 1997 until early 2007. He currently serves on the governing body which sets and oversees the company’s vision, mission and growth. A graduate of Winthrop University with a B.S. in Business Management, he has over 20 years of work experience in health care with a specialty of caring for the elderly and for those facing end-of-life issues.

Todd Picou

Co-Founder

Todd Picou, MBA, NHA

Todd Picou is co-founder and owner of Hospice Care of South Carolina. Mr. Picou served as Chief Financial Officer from its formation in May 1997 until early 2007.  He currently serves as Chairman for HCSC, as well as serving on the governing body which sets and oversees the company’s vision, mission and growth.  A graduate of Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Accounting, he then pursued his MBA with a Finance Concentration at Gardner-Webb University.  Mr. Picou has over 20 years of work experience in health care with a specialty of caring for the elderly and for those facing end-of-life issues.

Dawn-Michele Teachey

Chief Executive Officer

Dawn-Michele Teachey, RN, BSN

Dawn-Michele Teachey serves as Chief Executive Officer of Hospice Care of South Carolina. Ms. Teachey previously served as Vice President of Corporate Development for the organization until her appointment to CEO in April 2007. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S in Biology and Nursing, Ms. Teachey has over 13 years of combined clinical and healthcare operational management experience. Ms. Teachey’s goal is to lead, direct and support the vision, mission and growth of Hospice Care of South Carolina with an emphasis on quality and best practices.

Diane Stepp

Chief Nursing Officer

Diane Stepp, RN, MSN, NE-BC

Diane Stepp serves as the Chief Nursing Officer.  Her role takes a strong focus on patient safety and providing quality care to each patient and their family.   She is gifted in successful strategies in retention and recruitment, workforce efficiency, productivity and process improvement.  A BSN graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate, Mrs. Stepp is currently enrolled at Gardner-Webb University in the Masters Program with a concentration in Nursing Administration.  She has twenty-nine years of nursing experience, eighteen of which she served in a nursing leadership role. 

David Maiorana

Chief Financial Officer

David Maiorana
David Maiorana serves as the Chief Financial Officer.  He oversees all financial management and works with the Executive Team on strategic development, financial analysis and operational efficiency.  Mr. Maiorana  has  over 20 years of financial and leadershipexperience.  Prior to joining HospiceCare of South Carolina, Maiorana served as a consultant to Bi-Lo, LLC inGreenville, South Carolina.  In this rolehe provided strategic planning and project management.  Maiorana is a graduate of Bob JonesUniversity in Greenville, South Carolina.

David Powell

Director of Process Improvement

David Powell, DMin.

David Powell is the Director of Process Improvement for Hospice Care of South Carolina. He functions as a resource in assessing, researching and assisting with the development of innovative processes that hard wire excellence and quality assurance. Dr. Powell completed undergraduate work at Berry College in Rome GA, with a BS in Chemistry. He has completed two Masters and a DMin., from work at Western Conservative Theological Seminary, Evangel Bible College and Christian Life School of Theology, now Beacon University located in Columbus, GA. He has served as a Pastor of Education for ten years and worked in Senior Management for several companies over a span of 13 years.

Janine Fulton

Director of Support Services

Janine Fulton, LMSW

Janine Fulton is the Director of Support Services. She oversees and supervises the Social Workers, Chaplains and Bereavement Program.  Janine has over 20 years of experience in the field of social work. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work. Mrs. Fulton has worked for Hospice Care of South Carolina since 1998.

Lucie Bujetova

Director of Human Resources

Lucie Bujetova, MBA, PHR

Lucie Bujetova serves as the Director of Human Resources.  As such, she oversees all personnel processes for the nearly 300 employees of Hospice Care of South Carolina.  She is the chair of the Reward, Recognition and Retention Team.  Ms. Bujetova received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Bethune-Cookman College.  She then went on to pursue her MBA at Gardner-Webb University in 2003 with a concentration in Human Resources.  She has five years experience in Human Resources and is a Certified Professional in Human Resources. 

Jennifer Pooley

Director of Volunteers

Jennifer Pooley

Jennifer Pooley serves as the Director of Volunteers for Hospice Care of South Carolina.  The recruitment, training, and retention of qualified, caring volunteers is the main focus of her position.  She is also the program director for bereavement camps offered to families, children, and teens throughout the state.   Mrs. Pooley has many years of experience working with large volunteer groups.  She holds a BA in Communications from Governors State University, University Park, IL.

Director of Physician Services

Kelly H. Phillips

Kelly Phillips serves as the Director of Physician Services.  Her role encompasses working with the physicians to ensure their expectations as providers are exceedingly met and they are educated about hospice.  She performs recruitment activities for Medical Directors and is in contact with existing Medical Directors on an ongoing basis.  Mrs. Phillips is the chair of the Referral Source Satisfaction Team.  She has ten years experience working one on one with physicians.  Mrs. Phillips is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate and most recently served as the President of the South Carolina Association of Medical Staff Services.  

Director of Marketing

Alice Grey Harrison, APR

Alice Grey Harrison serves as the Director of Marketing.  As such, she oversees all marketing and public relations for Hospice Care of South Carolina and is the chairr of the Communications Team.  She also  is involved in strategic growth and development of new markets.  She has ten years experience in marketing, including seven years with healthcare related organizations.  Mrs. Harrison graduated from the University of the South and is Accredited in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America.
