Comfort Care for Kids

 

Hospice Care of South Carolina provides comprehensive and compassionate care for infants, children, and adolescents, and their families living with a life threatening condition. Our staff establishes a trusting relationship with the child and family that puts everyone at ease. We provide expert pain and symptom management and emotional and spiritual support for the child and family under the direction of the child’s physician in collaboration with our team and the Pediatric Medical Director.

 

Purpose

 

• Maintain comfort, function, and dignity according to the child’s developmental stage at all ages

 

• Identify each patient and family’s unique needs and expectations to provide for unmet needs

 

• Focus on the child instead of the disease

 

• Provide knowledge and support empowering the caregiver

 

• Every child and young person with a life–limiting or life–threatening condition deserves the highest–quality, family-centered care and support, with services provided in the setting of choice, according to the child and family’s wishes
