National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization: NHPCO is the largest nonprofit membership organization representing
hospice and palliative care programs and professionals in the United
States. The organization is committed to improving end of life care and
expanding access to hospice care with the goal of profoundly enhancing
quality of life for people dying in America and their loved ones. Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care: The Carolina's Center is a comprehensive resource to improve hospice, palliative,
and end of life care, while promoting recognition of the dying process
and death as a natural part of life. American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine: AAHPM is
dedicated to expanding access of patients and families to high quality
palliative care, and advancing the discipline of Hospice and Palliative
Medicine, through professional education and training, development of a
specialist workforce, support for clinical practice standards, research
and public policy. National Association for Home Care and Hospice: NAHC is the nation's largest trade association representing the
interests and concerns of home care agencies, hospices, home care aide
organizations, and medical equipment suppliers. End of Life Palliative Education Resource Center: The
purpose of EPERC is to share educational resource material among the
community of health professional educators involved in palliative care
education. Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Hospice Center: CMS ensures effective, up-to-date health care coverage and promotes quality care for beneficiaries. Center to Advance Palliative Care: CAPC provides health care
professionals with the tools, training and technical assistance
necessary to start and sustain successful palliative care programs in
hospitals and other health care settings. CAPC is a national
organization dedicated to increasing the availability of quality
palliative care services for people facing serious illness. Hospice Foundation of America: HFA provides programs of
professional development, public education and information, research,
publications and health policy issues.
Their mission is to enhance
the U.S. health care system and the role of hospice within it. Hospiscript Services: Prescription benefits manager for Hospice Care of South Carolina. Provides medication, research, support and on-going education to our staff. Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association: Established in 1986, the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association
is the nation's largest and oldest professional nursing organization dedicated
to promoting excellence in hospice and palliative
nursing care. National Alliance for Caregiving: The mission of this organization is to provide support
to families, caregivers and the professionals who help them and to
increasing public awareness of issues facing families and caregivers. Care Pages: The CarePages website helps families stay connected, informed, and supported. When a
loved one is hospitalized or receiving care it can be difficult to
communicate. With CarePages, updates are shared via email automatically
and visitors can leave messages for the patient and family on the web
page. CarePages give families an emotional lift that is hard to deliver
in any other way. Caring Bridge: CaringBridge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit web service that connects
family and friends during a critical illness, treatment or recovery. Compassionate Friends: This group helps assist families toward the positive
resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to
provide information to help others to be supportive. This national,
nonprofit, self-help support organization offers friendship and
understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings.
