Pediatric Care Program Focuses on Improving Quality of Life
Within the past 3 years, the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation’s quality of life initiatives for pediatric hospice patients - including professional photography/videography, wearable fingerprint charms, iPads, small gifts, and direct financial assistance for critical needs - have directly impacted over 400 children and their families. HPCF is one of very few organizations in our state that specifically serves families facing terminal illness of any kind, and many families have turned to the Foundation after all other resources have been exhausted. Families who have requested assistance have often used up all of their PTO, sick days, and even FMLA benefits or have had to end their employment in order to take care of their terminally ill child. Assistance provided by this program has impacted families in monumental ways. Examples from the past year include providing rent assistance for a child and her family who were in danger of being evicted, an iPad for a home-bound child to facilitate communication with her remote medical team and to normalize play, and a fingerprint charm made by terminally ill child and her mom.
Your donation of any amount can help a family make special memories together, or purchase much needed items. To donate, or access applications for assistance, please visit our website or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Annual Golf Tournament to Benefit Camp Hands of Hope- WE NEED YOU!
DID YOU KNOW? Research shows that one in seven children will lose a parent or sibling before the age of 20. This means more than 150,000 children in South Carolina have experienced a loss before their 20th birthday. YOU can help us support children across the state as they learn to cope with their loss.
We are partnering with the Blackmoor Golf Club in Murrells Inlet for our 12th annual golf tournament and fundraiser on July 27th. All proceeds from the Rick Mommsen Jr. & Steve Ditchfield Memorial Golf Tournament go to Camp Hands of Hope. If you, your employer or an organization you know would like to come alongside us to support this impactful bereavement resource, there are several ways you can participate:
Play in the tournament- The cost per player is only $75 and includes cart and green fees, beverages, and full hot dinner after the tournament.
Sponsor a hole- For only $100, you can have your personal message or company name/logo placed on a hole of the course for all the participants to see.
Make a general donation - the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit foundation and all donations are tax deductible. We are also accepting in-kind donations for our silent auction and raffle!
For more information or to sign up to play, please visit our event page or email us at email@example.com. Please spread the word! The deadline to register is July 20th.
