Why did Hospice Care of South Carolina decide to acquire Agapé Hospice?
Hospice Care of South Carolina is combining with Agapé Hospice to become the leading hospice and palliative care provider across the state of South Carolina.
The company identified a great opportunity to expand its patient services by combining both care providers into one organization. The combined organization has 800+ employees and cares for more than 1,400 patients across all 46 counties in the state.

How will this combined organization benefit patients and the community?
We decided to take this step forward to enhance our ability to respond to our patients’ needs, capitalizing on the talent and connections of each organization.
Combining our organizations means we can be more responsive. Having more teammates collaborating together can translate to decreased time on the road, and more time being available for our patients.
We are well positioned to be the provider of choice in South Carolina as we respond to the growth in demand for hospice care in the communities we serve.

Will you keep offices in all locations open, or will some locations be closed?
At present, operations will continue as is for both Agapé Hospice and Hospice Care of South Carolina. We will continue to have a presence in all 46 counties across the state.
What is the new name of the combined organization?
In the near-term the entities will continue to operate as Agapé Hospice and Hospice Care of South Carolina. We are evaluating the longer-term branding strategy of the combined organization and will provide updates in a timely manner.
Will there be any changes or disruptions to patient care?
Our patients will continue to receive the excellent care from our team and we plan to enhance our care options as well.
